Volunteers are the backbone of Joseph’s Coat

Without our volunteer champions, we would not be able to offer stepping stones to; a family moving from homeless into an apartment, seniors stretching their budget, or providing cribs for kids through the Infant Safe Sleep project.

Welcome and help new & existing customers entering Joseph’ s Coat

Furniture Pick-Up Volunteer

Travel on Joseph’s Coat truck to pick up furniture donations on Wed. and Sat. mornings.

Furniture Pickup Driver

Drive Joseph’s Coat box truck to pick or deliver furniture on Wed. and Sat. mornings.

Check-Out Volunteer

Check out includes checking off and verifying monthly family limits of items . Works with Check-in. Time: During store hours. two or three hour shift

Sorting Volunteer

Sort clothing, personal care items, household goods, or general donations. Time: During store hours; 2 or 3 hour shifts

Back-End Dock Worker

Move clothing, household goods & furniture to departments or client vehicle. Unload donor vehicle, load furniture client's vehicle, and unload Joseph's Coat truck.

Furniture Receptionist

Attend to customers or donors face-to-face and on the phone during store hours. Responsible for answering general questions about Joseph's Coat and taking messages for Furniture Department. Time: Wednesday or Saturday mornings

Facility Volunteer

Help maintain the facility. Has strong mechanical and problem solving skills. Works in all areas of facility. Time: varies. During store hours: 2 to 3 hour shifts and as needed

Cribs for Kids Ambassador

Teach moms & moms-to-be the ABCs of safe sleep for babies. Alone on their Backs in an empty Crib. Joseph’s Coat is a Cribs for Kids site. Attend Training. Be available during store hours to teach the ABCs to moms with babies and moms-to-be. Also teach how to set-up a Pack-n-Play crib.

Volunteer Development Leader

Invite others that share our cause to join us in offering stepping stones for families struggling during a difficult season. Person passionate about Joseph's Coat's cause, energetic, out-going, with strong communication skills and enjoys networking. Time: variable

Communication Coordinator

Create & communicate clear consistent message internally & externally explaining why Joseph’s Coat exists and how our stepping stones impact our community.
